I fear vengeance but I love karma –

He was teased back in high school, known for keeping his nose in books, known for being quiet. A handful understood him, they at times thought he was hilarious, he spoke but not fluent, he laughed but wasn’t known to be funny, he shared his feelings but never went in depth with it and he mingled with his friends but respected his space. All this puzzled his classmates, they made fun of him called him weird and bossed him around, told him he wouldn’t be anything in his life, all this broke his heart. He cuddled with words when there wasn’t anyone who understood him, wrote down his feelings, cried at his leisure, and wished he was just like the other kids, the exact same kids who made fun of him.

They all graduated; there were very little smiles on the people that made him feel emasculated during all hours of his life. He fixed his thick glasses but still felt unappreciated because he wanted to fit in, he graduated with flying colours, he vowed that those colours would add up to a perfect flight for his future, his mother’s future and his father’s future.

He had no vengeance in his heart, he watched his life get better and watched theirs get worse.

This is a made up story, of a boy who was once made fun of and teased to a point where he desired nothing other than being just like them. To fit in, to be loved and appreciated. When we’re working towards our dreams, a number of people may switch on us, they might even make fun of the way we are, the way we talk and the way we dress.

I’m not saying we ought to wish the worst for people but if it’s karma on our screens we better have enough popcorn.
