Welcome to planet Earth where you’ll see more open bottles than open doors, where you’ll see people living in poverty with a law degree, where you’ll relate to musicians more than you’ll relate to people in parliament, where being known and having wealth can make you ‘talented,’ where black people ‘volunteer’ to donate organs for wealthy people and where voicing your feelings can get you behind bars or can even stop your heart from beating. Welcome to planet Earth, how may we serve you?

How many times do we see individuals give it all for nothing in return, how many times do we see individuals sacrificing their time and worth for nothing in return and how many times do we see individuals discussing what should be done... countless? Welcome to planet Earth, how may we serve you?

Her role models spoke about getting cars and more money, she looked up to them. She called them better than most of the people from her hood. Trying to fit in she browsed the web seeking a place to comfort her dreams, a place where cars, houses and clothes have her name on them. Not knowing what was on her mind she said: This seems to be the life to live.

Year in and year out we perceive the righteous doings from individuals for as little as a dime, applause or even a worthy souvenir.

Looking forward to a better future with a desire to be better than where she stands, not even considering what her foes where doing at that time she vowed to work harder, she vowed and she vowed. Not knowing what was on her mind she vowed: I will reach this level.

They spent years getting the highest education in the nation, they changed provinces looking for a better career and they spent their last rand seeking a better future... for what in return, for a thank you from society? Welcome to planet Earth, how may we serve you?

Quite a number of individuals tend to compare their lives with what they see on the web, they vow to live their lives. Judging their so called role models from what they wear, being persuasive to their footsteps without consideration of what they do in hidden corners they vow: My role model is such an inspiration.
