“Thank you, you know I feel bad. Isn’t there anything I could do for you in return?” “No, don’t worry about us, just pray for us” “I could...” “Just pray for us” “Thank you” “We wish you the best of luck on your journey”
We’re star struck when individuals do good deeds without demanding anything in return; with so little people with the same mentally we have every reason of disbelief. We meditate on how we could return them back without being too explicit that we’re trying to give back. Without any hesitation a minority of people give without expecting anything in return. Living in a world where individuals tend to care about others when it’s beneficiary for them it’s even harder to accept such a blessing.
For the mere fact that their hands have been opened towards us, we may even fear letting them down; the edge to give to others for the mere fact that we too once received blessings from the heart of innocents.
Leaving for Soweto has added pressure towards myself, not that I fear change but because I fear being a nuisance. Even though I’m going to be living with my sister for a while, I wouldn’t want to end up being a nuisance.
I approached this other shop seeking a job for a month in order to support my website, all I needed was R500.00, I told him my ambitions and he said “It’s fine, three days before you leave tell me. I’ll give you the money”
To be honest when I received the money, there was joy and tremendous pressure... how could I even let such people down?
“Just pray for us”
