Life insurance

With car insurance any damages towards your vehicle will be compensated, likewise with house insurance and with any insurance but for one. The most valuable one, why isn’t there a way to compensate with life insurance? Instead we’re given assurance that they’ll rest in peace. Where’s this peace they speak of when it’s impossible to let go?

We’re constantly given theory of where the dead go and we’re constantly given warmth from soothing words; how we’ll see them again and how we’ll be able to lift bottles with them instead of drinking in remorse. We’re trying to move on by dancing with a few poets, taking a stroll with a couple of artists and holding hands with our blemishes.

We’d be lying if we said we don’t think about you, I’ve never heard stories you told instead I heard stories about you. They say you were a nuisance but they say your heart was filled with love, you cared for others more than you cared for yourself. Looking into my own life I see that too with myself. If the stories we grew up hearing about meeting the dead, do you mind sharing some of your best memories with me? Let’s say over coffee, they told me you loved your coffee strong.

Couldn’t you have picked a better time to leave me, why did you have to leave when I knew nothing about life? To be quite frank I see my friends growing up with their own, it brings me joy and great remorse not having you in my life. Joys of appreciating life and remorse of not appreciating life, be it whatever it is.

My friend was telling me about you the other day, my memory has forgotten about you but my heart hasn’t.
