People around me have the mentality that I write to chase the wealthy lifestyle where coffee is brought to you whilst you’re in bed and where someone is hired in order to look after your own health, telling you what to wear and what to say in public. Being publicly proud about your private life and wanting the press to invade your privacy and calling paparazzi on yourself and calling it ‘stalking’? The kind of life where giving a rand from the heart isn’t good enough, the kind of life where our charity work is inadequate unless it’s close to a million.

A handful of people I went to school with are living the kind of lifestyle I am pursuing, the kind of lifestyle that keeps me up at night writing or keeps me up at night meditating about my flaws. The kind of lifestyle where we have more fun than working days, the kind of lifestyle that allows you to fall in love with your career all over again and the kind of lifestyle where we can’t even call work work merely because we’ve fallen in love all over again with what we do. Working day and night brings us joy, writing for that kind of lifestyle knowing and believing that tomorrow is a cloudy day and we’ve got our pens to make it better.

Being a millionaire, if we ever have that kind of blessing in our careers, we’ll appreciate it but we’re working in order to have more fun days. We’re working in order for us to reduce the need to see psychologists.
